Are you ready to make something?
In this course, you will explore the process of making, from initial design to finished product. You will learn how to use a variety of tools and techniques for the development and making of objects using innovative software and hardware.
The course meets in UMW’s ThinkLab, located in room 225A of Simpson Library.
In DGST 201, you will learn about 3D design and printing, e-textiles, robotics, and electronics. You’ll sew using conductive thread, program an Arduino, get hands-on with soldering, and create 3D objects you’ve designed yourself.
We’ll also explore the Maker Movement — what it means to be a maker in the 21st Century and how making and tinkering fit into the liberal arts.
