In CPSC 220 our first project was to create a program that calculated the price of paint and to print out a receipt. The user inputs four values and a price is then calculated. This a basic program but a lot was learned from this project. First was figuring out what variables needed to be created and what to call them. Once that was done, I created all the calculated statements on paper to make sure that I would get the answer I was expecting. With all this on paper I had a basic idea of how the code should be written and formulated. So I began to write the code for this program and was surprised how easily it came together. However, I did run into a few problems but nothing a little research and trail and error couldn’t fix. While this program probably took me four hours to write, I believe that with more planning and more understanding of the C++ language will make writing programs more easy.
